Helvetica is a very nice typeface when it's used properly. Arial, on the other hand, is actually a Microsoft knock-off of Helvetica they saw something that worked well and put out their own poor, lesser quality version. When you know what you're looking at it's pretty easy to tell the two typefaces apart in fact, why not take the Helvetica vs Arial taste test for yourself? I got ten out of ten and am a little too proud of the fact than is probably healthy.
