Here's an article from last week's BKK Post about an attempt to unlock an iPhone in Bangkok. If you've ever spent any time living in Thailand, this article will surely make you laugh. Mobile phone shops are EVERYWHERE and you can get most anything done on your phone for cheap...if you can find the right people. (or unless it's an iPhone :))

The striking thing about this article is how Apple Thailand has been directly ordered to not even mention or acknowledge the iPhone. Thais are absolutely crazy for the latest mobile phones, so trust me, most urbanites here are very familiar with the iPhone, especially Bangkokians.

According to that story the iPhone was not unlocked; it was turned into a super iPod. There is still no proof that anyone can unlock the iPhone through only a software hack.

right. exactly. that's I why i said "an attempt to unlock an iPhone" and "get most anything done on your phone...unless it's an iPhone."
