I was looking at purchasing a MacBook and was interested in the financing option, so I applied for it to see if I would be accepted. It gave me $2000 of instant credit, does this mean it opened up an account or that it will be opened if I use the credit on a purchase?

You'd have to read the exact reply that you got. Hard to say with nothing else than "it gave me $2,000 of instant credit".

Keep in mind that _credit_ needs to be repaid, and the credit cards usually have a very high interest rate. $2,000 "instant credit" will probably have the highest interest rate available. It's not free money. It's not an invitation to spend $2,000.
