Just bought a base model 21" so far I like it.Screen is bright ( brighter than my MacBook Air) looks pretty uniform haven't noticed any yellow areas,colours look vivid.One thing is that has a warmer tone than my iPad 2 and my Macbook Air.Is this normal or is there the same variation in tone as with other Apple devices?

iMac monitors don't necessarily come calibrated, so its normal that it might have a warmer tone that your iPad.
Unlike the iPad, however, you can adjust your display settings in preferences if you would like a cooler tone.
