I have the 1TB Apple SSD. It's APPLE SSD SM1024F in Disk Utility.

I've also read that you can install Apple SSD's onto the motherboard of the 27" iMac if you have the right model SSD.

Does anyone here know if I can install this APPLE SSD SM1024F directly onto the motherboard of the base iMac 27" 5k model?

This is what it looks like:
[doublepost=1474590252][/doublepost]Based on more reading it appears that this will work. I'm contemplating a cheap 5k iMac on Craigslist and have the 1tb ssd in hand, so I may give it a shot. I've opened these iMacs up in the past and feel confident I can pull it off.
