Just got the new M2 Studio, base model with the 512GB SSD and am somewhat dismayed at the Blackmagic speed test results. I'm getting around 3,200 MB/s writes and 3,000 MB/s reads. I had read several posts that indicated speeds were supposed to be around 5,000 MB/s. I realize the single chip issue with 512GB vs the 1TB drives, but still expected better readings. Could the speed readings be slower because of indexing going on in the background? Have any of you with the base model run a speed test? Thanks

Sorry to hear that. I suspected this was going to be the case considering the latest MBP with 512GB also is slower than the models with bigger SSDs.

I think you need at least 1TB to get faster speeds

I ordered mine with 1T partly to guard against this possibility. Can folks with 512G and 1T post their speeds so we can get an idea if Apple implemented the SSDs using 1 chip for the base model and 2 chips for the upgraded version?
