Base or Middle Config...?

Im getting the new iMac, but i am stuck on which one!

Im looking at the base with 512gb SSD or the middle tier with 256gb ssd. budget is maxed out at 2k. No room for wiggle.

I am a content creator (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, PhotoMechanic, FCPX, etc...) This machine will be solely for editing.

I have an external Raid 0 (USB3 drive that is my main drive) and another 500gb thunderbolt SSD Gtech drive for editing too...

Thoughts?



I Guess the bulk of my question is in the difference between the 570 and the 575 (1Tflop difference) will I see enough of a difference in the two?

I wish I could get the 580, but it would mean getting a fusion drive and I do NOT want spinning disk.

Buy the highest you could afford. No base.

Since you are using external drives anyways, I would go for the middle config - you can always add more and faster external storage.
