Baseline 13" w/ 4GB Ram

Is it pretty snappy for massive iTunes syncs with iOS devices? I'll be getting either the 13/1.86.4gb ram config or baseline MBP this Friday (can't afford MBP 15 or MBA Ultimate)! I just want to make the best decision possible. This will be primarily used for working with office 2011, browsing on chrome, netflix streaming, youtube, managing an inventory-based business, basic iLife stuff and maybe very light gaming (i.e. Wheel of Fortune).

get mba 13" 1.86/4Gb..you'll need the ram. That configuration is superb...i went with the ultimate because i had the extra money

My my opinion, the 4GB 1.86 G C2D with 128GB SSD 13 inch MBA is probably your "best deal" for performance/features.

It costs $1399, although the apple refurb store online sometimes has it for $1189 (that will be even a better deal).

As long as hard drive space isn't an issue (I still have 97GB left) after installing the basic stuff (iwork, MS office, handbrake). I'll still have plenty of power/hard drive left over to if I wanted to run parallels with Windows 7 also.

This is your biggest bang for the buck.

your MBA will be WAY overpowered for what you need, but one can always use MORE POWER. Enjoy.

this is the configuaration I went with and I love it. The 4GM of RAM is essential for running multiple programs. The 128GB isn't that much, but I do have a portable 500GB drive for media if I go on a long trip.

This is the configuration I went with, and I love it. All the things you mention are seriously snappy even under Lion, which is generally slower than Snow Leopard. You'll be fine.

This is the configuration I went --- it's scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, and I hope it's a wise choice only because I plan to run Windows 7 via boot camp and install Dreamweaver and PS. I am belatedly questioning my decision to go with 128 vs 256 but oh well, it is a fait accompli at this point

Get the 13/1.86.4gb ram 128G SSD. As someone stated it's the best bang for the buck. You will love it and it will run what you need perfectly fine.

Thanks for all of the replies! Last question, I've been reading a lot of reviews and they mention that even with the higher resolution on the MBA, the color gamut is limited in comparison to the baseline MBP. I have not been able to test this myself though. Is this noticeable?

"Noticeable" is very subjective. I seriously doubt the difference would be noticeable for many people, but Anand's test of the 2011 MBP confirm the accuracy/gamut of the MBP screen is better (while the contrast is better in the MBA).

I'm in the same situation. I'm stuck between a 13" MBA 1.86 w/ 128GB, 4GB RAM or 13" MBP 2.3 i5 w/128GB SSD, 4GB RAM.

Price wise, the MBP is 1324, MBA is 1339 (im a student). not much of a difference there but I'm a little hesitant if there gonna drop a new processor in it anytime soon. Might wait till the back to school promotion where I'd get a free ipod and printer could sell later to recoup cash).

any advice?
