macOS Bash command to view output from application/process?

I'm running TranmissionCLI on a remote machine and when you set it off to start downloading you get an output of how much is downloaded etc.

Close Terminal and reopen you loose this, ps aux tells me the process is still running but is it possible to get back that output?.

Run it in screen.

This let's you keep something running in a... I'll call it a virtual terminal, that you can connect to from an ssh session, or any other terminal session later.

It seems to keep itself hidden just under the surface. I've been using unix-like systems for years, and I guess I just didn't have geeky enough friends to tell me about it until recently.

I haven't switched my many-dozen terminals to a screen-only setup at work yet, but I'm considering it.
