Basic Mac mini question.. Very basic

Hey guys sorry for this really easy question, but..

I have an iPad and I need a little bit more. Anyone who has just a pad I'm sometimes realizes it I'm sure. I want to get a refurbed Mac mini and I'm wondering if I can use my gf's old pc computer monitor?

For that matter can we use all her old stuff? Mouse, keyboard, etc...

Thanks guys..

Either this or I'm gist getting a brand new MacBook pro 13" but it'd be fun to keep the pad obviously.

USB mouse and keyboard should work. Monitor you would need to buy to proper adapters.
