Hello,
I am looking for an app compatible with iOS 11 / iPad Pro that can help me with renaming a batch of photo’s.
It needs to be able to handle a frequently used list of photos that I record for home evaluations, ie;
01 Front of house
02 Back of house
03 left
04 right
05 etc...

I am currently performing this function using a utility called Advanced Renamer
If anyone knows of an application that can handle this I would be super grateful.

Cascades42 Thank you so much!! I am definitely on the right track..

But... I cant help like feeling there would be a sequence that would be more efficient than what I have come up with by editing the one you had shared with me.

Would you mind checking out what I have to see if you could recommend (to a novice like me) a way to select a photo as per the name I want to assign it to and save them all to the same folder. The photos are not always in the same order as the directory of names that are applied to them.

Rename ERS

I simplified a bit for you, give this a try: Rename ERS.

After the Workflow runs I'd recommend opening the files app and moving the folder you've just saved all the images to to where you need - this way you're saving yourself the step of navigating that route 14 times (1 for each picture). They automatically save to a folder (which you set the name of at the start) inside of the Workflow folder.

If you need each picture to be optional then try Rename ERS Optional instead.

Alternatively, if no pictures are optional but like me you'll forget where you are in the list, try this: Rename ERS Remind.

Cascades42, Thank you again for your support with thes workflows. How did you learn to use this app? The workflow website documents havn’t given me the understanding I would hope for. It looks like a powerful timesaver yet I struggling to get the workflows to function correctly.

I would be so grateful if you could assist me in getting this workflow attempt working cause I think it would be an efficient method.

  • Find files (I’m a Dropbox user)
  • Select multiple
  • Quick look
  • List
  • Set name - Prompt? Choose from List
  • Save (to origin folder, if this is possible? Or I can use a temp folder and then move them.)
Do you happen to know of any good instructional resources for this app, I can think of lots of workflows I’d like to build, and I can’t keep bugging you for help hahaha.

Thanks again,

There's a great Workflow Subreddit where I learnt a lot of things, the rest was just playing with it. I'll try and look at your Workflow later and see if I can help you more :)

MacStories is also a great place to learn about Workflow.
