Bateries and Applecare

I have bought applecare for my Macbook. When my batery health goes down to a low ammount, and the batery life dimminishes, will I be able to get a new battery from applecare?

If it's just due to the regular wear on the battery, then I don't think so, no. The only time Applecare covers batteries is if there is a problem with them (ie: they don't hold a charge well enough, their capacity decreases too quickly, they blow up , etc). At least as far as I know..

No, they don't cover batteries that have more than a certain amount of charge cycles (I think it's 300). I actually went to a Genius Bar about this, and that's what I was told. If you're nice though, you may be able to buy a battery as a replacement part (which is a bit cheaper than just buying one off the shelf)

Lucky! When I was in NY and brought my MBP to the genius bar with 80 battery cycles he told me tough that's just normal use, even tho it only held 75% of its original charge. So when I called up AppleCare and asked them for the replacement there was no questions asked. They sent me out a new battery in 1 day.
I wonder why the genius bar guys are more sticky on replacing things

Under "Battery Information" you will see a value called "Cycle Count." This is the number of cycles. Point of reference, I have had my Macbook since 9/06 and I have 164 cycles as of today (5/07) and 4403 mAh as my full charge capacity.

funny, I only have 14 cycles on my MBP and the charge thing is the same
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5530
Remaining Capacity (mAh): 5530

will the full charge capacity number lower over time?
