So I was in the tub the other day (yes sometimes I soak in the tub before using the shower) and I took a call on the ol' IPHONE. My hair was hardly wet but I did notice a little bit of water around by the ear mic after I got off the phone. So after drying off I went to make a call and noticed that the top half of the screen had died, nothing was registering my touch. I couldn't even shut the phone off as there was no way to slid the button for shutdown. I did finaly figure out how to do a reset (home button PLUS off/sleep button) but that did not solve it. The next day I went to the Apple store and they did a software reload and then told me they would have to send it out. I wa slike I spent 600.00 on this thing it's barely two months and you want to send it out?? I wasn't having it and the manager was nice enough to give me a replacement. I had the series 5 screen before and now I have a 7 (I had to see) they seem very close and im fine with it, but I was wondering if anyone else has gotten there iphone wet and had similar issues or maybe the two arent even connected. What do you think?

What the hell is wrong with you.....it is a basic concept, water and electronics DO NO MIX:confused::confused::confused:

Obviously water is not good..but im talking about next to nothing a little moisture have u ever answered the fone with wt hair like just getting out of the shower/?? I have millions of times and never had an issue.

I would imagine that your hair was wetter than you thought and, even though it appeared to only have a little moisture on the outside clearly a decent amount of water leaked in through the earpiece and short circuited the touchscreen.

So yeah. Water + iPhone = bad.

Also, being that it was user error, there was no reason for Apple Care to fix the phone and even less of one for them to give you an in store replacement. Be happy. Free iPhone ftw! :D

I have a similar story with pretty much the same out come....I was directing traffic one day at work and I noticed rain was rolling in so in the process of going to my car to grab my rain coat I also put my phone in the car just to be on the same side. So the sky then decided to open up, I figured my phone would be perfect since it was safely in the car. Once my rainy shift was over I went back to check for missed calls and my screen had condensation on it! I knew it was humid out but I didn't think it was that humid. Long story short my screen worked perfectly for a day and then decided it was time to die. The apple store here is very nice and since the manager recognized me from one of the people camping out on day one she gave me a shiny new phone no questions asked! I am just guessing that the screen is extremely sensitive to any sort of moisture like most touch screens.

Having the upper half of the screen die is a flaw that has been documented on apple's discussion board. I know someone who had to send off their phone because of it.

That being said, I've used my iPhone in the tub with no ill effects. Just don't drop it in. :)
