Anyone know if there’s a major difference between the two, or if there should be? I know on the phones there usually are, but was just curious to see if the 12.9 (since it has a bigger battery) would have a bit better battery than the 11? I know a few elitists have bought both, or may know by using previous sized models in the past.

On my 2017 Pros, the 12.9 seems to have better battery life than the 10.5. Both are good but the 12.9 does seem to last noticeably longer. No idea on the 2018 models given the change in chassis size for the 12.9.

The sales at Apple told me the 12.9 model has a bigger battery compared to 11” model and therefore will last longer.

Very true. And I’m reading threads on battery drain for the 12.9 versus their Gen 2 models. Was thinking of swapping my 11” at Best Buy tomorrow for a 12.9, but now I’m not so sure...

THe 12.9" obviously has a bigger battery since it's also bigger but of course drives a larger display as well. Having said that, since all other components are the same and I guess battery drain isn't directly proportional of display size, I would expect it to last slightly longer.

This is something I am curious about and haven't seen much in the way of threads. I hate asking the question since it seems to come up with every release but I wonder if it is worth running a pole to see if new Pros battery performance is on a par with people's previous Pros of if it is better or worse.
Can be hard to gauge since the new ones get hammered with setup/installs/indexing and new toy syndrome during the honeymoon period.

It's interesting in that, my battery will last me around 7-8 hrs of use (i am streaming a ton of video) but i never really noticed this on the 12.9 inch and i have been using my 11inch about 4x more than the new 12.9 inch. but I was wondering by it was so...

the good news is that i have usb-c cables everywhere connected to power so i noticed by the time i got back from lunch i got around 80% charge.

Maybe sharing battery life screenshots would help, it has always helped with previous models. Regardless of the change of stats, a manual addition of the current graphs can give us the answer.

Yes it has a bigger battery, but it also has a bigger screen, which generally drains the battery more than any other component. We will need to see controlled testing to see for certain

Hard to say as it will depend on what you’re using it for. This week I’ve been on my 12.9 for 7/8 hours a day using office apps, twitter, Citrix, mail, playing music on WiFi and typically the battery is sitting at 50% at the end of that.

I find both have a lower battery life compared to my 10.5 iPP

This is on just browsing and video watching, I have not pushed it with gaming or creation tasks

The 11” model has a smaller battery compared to the 10.5” model.

How about the new 12.9” model compared to previous generations 12.9” models?
