Battery Calibration

Is it ok to listen to music while running down the battery during the calibration process?

Apple says "Continue to keep your computer on until it goes to sleep. Save all your work and close all applications when the battery gets very low, before the computer goes to sleep." Will there be any repercussions to leaving itunes open playing music with the visualizer on? Thanks in advance.

No. It'll simply close any programs that are running before entering sleep. I usually let a movie dvd play to do it and turn off all of the battery saving features. This usually runs it down pretty quick.

OS X wil not automatically close programs prior to a low-power induced sleep. It will just go to sleep as if you closed the lid. The danger comes from the event that the battery runs out of its reserve power (the sleep light stops flashing). Then work and data will be lost if not saved prior to sleep.

I'm sure you've read in the article that you're supposed to leave your computer sleeping for at least 5 hours prior to reconnecting the charger. In those 5 hours the battery may run out of power while it's sleeping (happened to me once).
