Do you know if there is a difference in how long the battery last if a iPad Pro 2022 is equipped with 512gb compared with 1tb?

The reason I ask is that I had a previous experience with a MacBook Air 2018:

  • 16gb/1tb, the battery lasted for 4 hours; I changed computer
  • 8gb/512gb, the battery last for 10 hours.

No difference You will notice.
Your previous case has more to Do with your macOS and use case than storage capacities.

For the issue with the MacBook Air, both were clean installations with no extra installed programmes. In the past Apple have admitted that working memory size could affect the battery capacity.

How do you think the battery life and storage capacity could be linked?! I’m baffled

What CPUs did both Macs have? That is likely the bigger influence on the battery life.

That's impossible. Storage and RAM uses so little power and on mobile devices at idle, they go into a slumber state which draws a fractions of a watt. (0.0025 watt)

Went from a 250gb ssd to 2TB and power draw measured at the wall remained the same. The 1Tb one was likely glitching/indexing spotlight. Sometimes these processes get stuck at 100% CPU core. When doing this, the system will draw tens of watts and drop the battery significantly.

Apple 2016: Much has been said about the cost, trade-offs, and compromisesinvolved with purchasing Apple’s new MacBook Pro. Apple unveiled the device, which comes in three new iterations, yesterday at a press event, and people pouring over its spec sheets and purchase options have complained that its limiting 16GB memory option is severe given the price tag. Apple has now come out and explained that any more RAM in a notebook of its size would have a detrimental effect on battery life. Do you seriously believe that’s the reason behind limited max ram option? Just because apple says so, and early Ram chips were a bit more power hungry, doesn’t mean the reason apple not going for higher Ram capacity is solely due to power consumption. How about running out of physical space? Chip density Is Lower?
