I don’t prefer a large phone. I currently have a 7 with a battery case. I use about 150-175 percent of the battey and case m-f.

I would have purchased an X if they offered and Apple case. I don’t want a case not designed by apple. Don’t want battery problems or to use other than the proper Apple cable.

Anyone else in my boat. I am in sales and am on the road 12 hours a day. I don’t want to go back to carrying power supply blocks or plugging in at every outlet.

I hope Apple gets enough demand to produce Apple battery cases for the newest iPhones coming.

get an iphone 8 plus with a mophie. I used to have the 6 and i found the mophie to be perfect.
for me, i have a cord in my car and on my desk so i never need a pack. i can see why you need it though

I think a power brick is way better solution than a battery case. Battery case makes the device bulky and looks horrendous. Power bricks can be used when charge is required without ruining the look of the device. I bought a battery case for my 6 back in the day, hardly ever used because it just made the device thick and heavy. Never again.

My 8+ last me a day with 20-40% left, 50-60% if I leave low power mode on. It can be turned on regardless on battery percentage, maybe it could help you get some more hours out of the battery.

+ if your on the road why not plug your phone in to your car?

If you’re on the road plug the phone into your car, then your problem is solved. Personally I’d never use a battery case.

Battery cases negatively affect battery health because it keeps the cells at or near 100% charge. It’s almost like keeping your phone plugged into the wall all the time.

Power banks are much better for keeping battery health.

Many USB car chargers send poorly regulated voltage which can damage your iPhone. The iPhone is sensitive to these fluctuations. Once again, the best choice is a power bank.

This is true of the official Apple battery pack, which I agree is a bad design. Other brands allow you to control via a switch when it's charging the phone or not.

Many times I’m not in the car but on the train or in nyc all day.

[doublepost=1533066632][/doublepost]I had the Apple battery case on my 6 the day it was released and my 7 from day one. My battery health is 100 percent. It could be because I drain the case and a good part of the phone daily. I hate having to carry a battey brick because it’s another something I need to carry. I went out east with friends for the day. Full day and dinner and drinks. I used 93%. Email, text kids, pics, videos taken played and shared, Waze, keep up on news, forums like this and if I did not have a case I’d be nervous it would die.

I need apple to make a thicker iPhone in the current X size where the battery is 2x the X and I’m so in.

You talk about device bulkiness and your solution is a bulky power brick???

The Apple smart battery case is amazing. It’s light and adds very little bulk (looks much bigger in photos). It’s really a shame Apple didn’t make one for the X.

How’s a power brick bulky?! It’s like plugging your phone on a charger when needed and when you’re not charging, the phone is as slim and good looking.

Akash.nu is 100% right. Some of those 3200, 5000 mAh power bricks are really really small. The best one I liked is Anker's https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerC...pID=31j8j-FxdTL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

I personally use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194WDVHI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in my backpack. This thing is frigging tiny and I only need to use it when I need to use it, whereas a battery case is always on the phone. I used one of these for the last year of my work travels - to Japan, Germany, and to 9 different states. This with a cable is perfect in the airplane.

I vote for an external battery.

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerC...qid=1533097795&sr=8-3&keywords=anker+lipstick - also super tiny.

[doublepost=1533148410][/doublepost]I'm in the same boat as you are and use the Anker Powercore 20100. Lightweight and capacity will charge an iPhone 3 or 4 times. Plenty of juice. I connect phone while walking, Pub transport or Ubering and my phone is always catching a charge. Works very well. Never look for another outlet and have plenty of charge to run your business all day long.

YMMV

I am on Valley Metro buses and trains for what feels like all day. I use Amtrak, rental cars (which thankfully have USB ports) and try whatever I can to make the battery last. It annoys me that I have to even carry a battery pack, because it is extra stuff that I have to carry with me.

I was about to say the same. Back in the day I bought a mophie battery case with my old iPhone 5. The case was too big and phone was not confortable to hold. Plus, people didn't ear me as good and clear as normal when I didn't have the case.

Now I just bought a small 10 000 battery brick from Anker and it do the job perfectly when I'm not at home for a while. I just put it in on my backpack and I'm good for at least 3 full charge for my 6s plus if needed. Didn't found a better alternative so far and it cost less than twice the price of a battery case with a smaller battery.

I appreciate everyone’s responses but I not keen on having to keep a 2nd device charged. I also am not keen on having to carry a separate charging cord. Plus does anyone know if the tsa allows these bricks on planes? I know there is a lot of talk about external lithium packs. I have flown with my Apple battery case without issue many times. Domestically and internationally.

I’ve flown all over the world with Anker power bricks.

Where do you live where battery packs are not allowed on planes?

Back from vacation and in the office all day. Used 99% just doing what I usually do. I’m leaving work now. I have 100% on my case and 1% on phone.

My battery is at 100 percent healthy max capacity and I’m just a heavy user. Use phone a lot. Take and send product videos. Use internet to find data, pass my lunch break and ready to work and personal email, phone calls in from customers and the breakdown is

Safari 38%
Phone 14%
Photos 12%
MaiL 12%
Messages 8%
Home lock screen 5%
Uber 3%
What’s app 2%
Contacts 2%
Reminders 1%
Siri 1%
App Store 1%
Camera 1%

Usage 6hrs 15 min
Standby 11hrs 31 min
