I have an iPhone 5s currently running iOS 8.3.
I am very scared to update my phone to iOS 9.2.1 because of this so called battery charge level bug as mentioned in this link.

Just want to confirm if this bug ONLY affects iPhone 6s/6s Plus and NOT the iPhone 5s ???
So in other words, if I update my phone to iOS 9.2.1 on my iPhone 5s, will I be affected by this bug as well?

Correct. It's also not guaranteed to rear its head. I crossed a time zone boundary the other week, and did not witness the bug on my iPhone 6s.

No.

The charge level bug doesn't happen for everyone either. It only happens if you changed time zones (and it's set to auto change the time) and it happens if you change the time manually for whatever reason. (A lot people manually change the time to cheat limited lives per day in some games)

Will Apple fix this bug anytime soon?
I am sticking with my iPhone 5s and iOS 8.3 until Apple fixes this issue...and among other bugs with iOS 9.

Clearly they are aware of it and are looking into it as they mentioned themselves. When they'll address it is hard to say, but likely sooner rather than later. That said, as mentioned earlier, it's not something that affects those with devices other than the 6s line of iPhones and even not many of those users either.

Why not update? Charge level bug or not, you get much better battery performance with iOS 9 than 8.

I was amazed at the difference when I upgraded my 5s.

I have a 5s, anche my battery level is always weird.

it gets down to 15%, then 9% in a minute, i plug it, and it says 15%, i unplug it and it says 10% etc.

it does it also on another 5s of a friend of mine, always with 9.2

In which build? still present on 9.2.1, the latest public one.
Yes it again came up it's fixed from iOS 8. To 9.2 1after updated its gone it's there after 6 days I think I changed the time setting after I noticed its gone so changing time zone to manual hope it helps core time bug stopped reporting after updated iOS 9.21 but again shows up from 28 Jan

Absolutely correct. It's just a display issues. That's not a reason to avoid an update.

I prefer 9 over 8, but i can tell you that that bug is annoying. yesterday it told me I had 7% battery and after 2 seconds it shutted down completely.
