I bought my Macbook around a year ago. Its the base model from 2017. The thing im worried about, is that I have used 640 battery cycles. I dont know if this is normal or not. I use my computer for both school and freetime use, so pretty much all day everyday. I dont know much about computers, hence im aksing.

Sorry for my bad english.

So it's interesting you have more load cycles than the batteries lifespan. Maybe not entirely a bad thing but it speaks a little to your charging habits. Ideally it's best to not keep disconnecting and reconnecting the power each time you leave and come back to your power source (which it seems like you're doing), but rather to let the battery actually get low first before recharging it. Lithium-ion batteries loose their max charge capacity little by little each time they're fully charged up. If you're recharging at say 85%, then you're loosing that tiny bit of max capacity and not getting any benefit of the 85% you have left which means that full charge cycle has just gone to waste. Your screenshot indicates you've already lost about 10% of your battery's max charge capacity. At about 15-20% wear you're really going to notice a difference in battery life. With that being said the charging logic inside MacBooks today is significantly better than what it was, but even that can only help minimize wear to a certain extent since the battery will naturally wear out as time goes on anyways.

In any case, try to take advantage of your battery a little more and make sure you're not constantly topping it off.
