Hi All! I have a Macbook pro (mid2010) and last night i left it to charge the battery overnight. In the morning i wouldn't start at all unless plugged-in. And then it showed that battery was not charging and its charge capacity is 0. And the green indicator on the power adapter never went to orange and keep saying 0% battery!! i tried to reset SMC (shift-control-option and power button), restarting several times, i opened the computer and unplugged the battery for a while then back again and still i have the same issue... please any suggestion how i can resolve this problem. thx
It has 1055 battery cycles but why it died suddenly i wonder, its the original battery btw

Battery life is around 800 cycles, so that battery has given you great service. My guess is something shorted out inside and the battery is done. Time for a new battery.

I'd open it up and check the wires that connect the battery. Was it swollen? How many hours do you get out of it if its working?

i will do it again this evening. it was not swolen. i was getting 2-3 hrs runtime depending on tasks

i was thinking the same, but can a battery die like that, it was 30+ % then i leave it to charge overnight and in the morning it was Dead..First i thought the charger killed it..

Yes, it is not terribly uncommon for a battery to just crap out like that. You should be able to get a replacement battery for a decent price, I believe. Good luck!

Tnx for the answer. I just checked some cheaper batteries from companies because i am on a budget and i found this one, made in germany from a german company http://www.ebay.com/itm/MTEC-Akku-B...696979?hash=item1c550861d3:g:oDEAAOSwLVZViP1k
any suggestions?
That sure is cheap... I don't have a thought on it one way or another. This may be a terrible way to think, but the price alone makes me question the quality. Newegg.com (which I generally trust) has one for $45. No customer reviews though...

Yes a battery can die instantly if there is an internal short.
