battery died overnight!

non-updated iphone, wifi off, bluetooth off, manual email checking...

i MAAYYYYYYBE left Mobile IM running...would that have done it?

or is there some battery issue i should know about?

Yep--maybe.

I thought MobileIM "disconnected" you, once your phone went into standby.

However, anything is possible.

Why don't you wait a while and see if it happens again. If it does there maybe a battery issue if it doesn't there may be something which triggered the battery usage

I would try charging my phone and then using it as little as possible for a day or so and see how the battery acts. If it dies even though you barely use it, there is an issue with the battery and it is time to call Apple.
