battery drain faster after jailbreak 3.1.2?

I've been surfing the web on a 3G connection for about 8 minutes now and my reading went from 100-% to 95% within that span. haven't seen this Jalen yet. I just jailbroken my 3GS about 2 days ago. could this be the reasoning behind it? I have my location turned off, wifi. fetching for mail etc. only 3G is on.
Has anyone else had this happen to them after a jailbreak?

I've had this happen. Tried rebooting but that didn't help. So I restored it and it fixed itself. This is surely an issue.

I restored, best way I could have gone. I'd rather just leave it stock as how it came rather then jailbreak. Runs a lot smoother now. No more killed battery

I had the same issue after I reinstalled my phone and jailbroke from scratch. My battery burned away seriously fast. All I needed to do to fix it was turn off push, reboot and turn push back on. For good measure I allowed the battery to run down until until the phone died and charged it back up to 100%.

Apparently the push issue is a known one that can even affect non-jailbreak firmware upgrades and that's a fix that Apple has recommended and the battery burn/recharge helps to calibrate the battery afresh. This turned my barely 2 hour run time with 14ish hours standby to 4-5 hour run time with 20+ hours standby.

Worth a shot and not a massive amount of work involved.

i had massive burn as well after 3.1.2, so i just went back to 3.1

Yeah, it depends what apps you installed during and after the jailbreak.

The jailbreak itself does nothing with the power system. But there are tons of apps that can cause battery drain (like Pdanet)
