Hi Mac User

Greeting from Jakarta

for some reason, two days ago I upgrade my Macbook Air 11" 2015 OS from Yosemite to Catalina. But after a day I upgrade, it feels like my mac is hotter than previously and also battery drain faster than when I'm using yosemite.

my question is:
1. Is there anyone experience same things like this?
2. How to fix it?
3. should I just downgrade the OS into OS before catalina?
4. If yes, which one is the best for my mac, Mojave or High Siera or go back to Yosemite

please kindly help

thanks

Give a try to Mojave !
It's better for a lot of aspects .
It can run almost everything ( i.e.
32 or 64 bits apps ) , it's more stable .

Welcome to Catalina.
I have similar issues. The impact of Catalina on my MBP 15 inch 2018 is a nightmare.
My battery health dropped from 99% to 95% within the last 2 months.

I am also considering rolling back to Mojave... I will see the next update if it does some miracles...

Catalina has been an absolute nightmare for me on my MBP 13" 2017 non-touchbar model. High Sierra gave me the best battery life. Almost close to what Apple states on its website. The moment I took a jump to Mojave the battery life for the same tasks I used to perform on High Sierra dropped by close to 2 hours. Rolled back to High Sierra and decided I'll wait for the next OS update. When Catalina's first version came out it was the same as Mojave and only in 10.15.2, my battery life was almost close to High Sierra. But 10.15.4 update messed up the battery life really bad and I finally rolled back to High Sierra once again. I decided that unless Apple decides to stop releasing security updates for High SIerra I'm not updating.
