Its been 3 hours since I took it off the charger and I'm down to 60%
I'm running sbsettings, pro switcher, and backgrounder.
Which one of these do you think is draining my battery, and how can I stop them?

SBSettings itself will not drain your battery like that. Do you have the rotation inhibitor toggle? If so, I've heard that can drain your battery so remove that toggle if you have it. Also, you mentioned backgrounder which again will not drain your battery like that by itself; however, if you are actually running a program in the background it can certainly drain your battery quickly. Are you sure that you don't have a program (other than the "stock" apps) running in the background?

I had the same issues as you as well with battery drainage. I was told to recalibrate my battery and also I read on here to turn off push notification, reset your phone then turn push notifications back on. I did both and my battery issues are gone as I just noticed today. I left to work today with 100% battery. It's been 5 and a half hours and I've been playing around in Cydia and been on a few phone calls and my battery is at 85%. Yesterday before I did these things I was at 40 to 50% with the same usage. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/841594/

I have maybe 1 messenger running in background along with phone and mail. I will try the calibrate also will try the push notification resetting.

I also read restoring your phone and setting up as new may help?

Before you go restoring your phone, try disabling that messenger program you're running in the background - that is what is likely causing your battery drain.

I will try that.

Also in sbsettings, you can toggle off programs under 'Mobile Substrate Addons' ?

I'm not sure what you're asking with your last question but you can turn off programs using the "Processes" toggle in SBSettings. You also said that you're using ProSwitcher so you can shut down a program using that as well (tap on the x or swipe up if you have that option enabled).

You don't have to restore. Do the push notification and then recalibrate your battery and you should be ok. I have sbsettings winterboard and Proswitcher and my battery is fine now.

ahfu25 gives good advice and it's simply and easy to try just in case it works. I had the same problem this week when I reinstalled my phone from scratch. I turned off push, rebooted the phone and turned push back on. Just for good measure I also ran the battery down until the phone died then let it charge to 100% before unplugging it.

This made a massive world of difference and yesterday I got 5 hours usage with 14 hours standby and still had 10% battery left.

Its hard for me to let the phone die and then be able to charge it to 100% mid-day. I would have to charge it from work mid-day at 30% and let it charge until I go home, and then let it die and charge it to 100% over night.

Yeahs it's better that way I did the same and that way your charging process won't get interupted....good luck and happy new years!!

In the event of not creating another thread on this, let me post this here.

I installed iPhone VM2 the other day in hopes of speeding up my 3G. Certainly it did, but drained my battery hella fast. It was ridiculously drained fast, so I uninstalled the app. My phone seems to be draining just as quick since I installed it. Is there a way to fully remove this? am I missing something? My battery life was never this atrocious.....

Thanks, happy new years to you and everyone on this forum :)

Another question to save battery is, is it also a good idea to put it in sleep mode every time youre not using the device? I mean just clicking that top right button puts it in sleep mode right? I know I'll still get calls, but do I get other alerts while in sleep mode, be it messenger or emails? I dont think this is the case.

Yes. You will still receive your emails and alerts. I also turn wifi off when I'm at work or out and about.

This!!!!!!!!!

I just signed up after looking around for hours, for a cure for my horrible 3.1.2 JB battery life. This did the charm! I am so glad I snooped around this forum for this long. I've been on 45 mins of usage, and I'm still at 100%. Normally, I'd be in the 80-90 zone already! This is just awesome. Thank you guys so much.

(I signed up just to say this. That's how happy I am.) :D ;)

Apperciate all the help..

BTW, sorry for the bump. Just bumping this to show my appreciation, and maybe help someone else who currently has this problem.

EDIT: EPIC FAIL. Apparently, it was just a little bug. I restarted my phone, and I was actually at 85%. Same old ********.. Sigh..
