Hello,
I recently bought a used macbook pro 2021 m1 pro 14", I noticed that the battery drains quickly while it has only 77 charge cycle, battery health says it has 92% and on coconutBattery 86%,

how can I fix it?

What do you mean by draining faster? How many hours do you get with normal use?

Compared with my old MBP 2020 m1, the new one's autonomy is a maximum of 8 hours, whereas the old one could comfortably last 2 days normal use .

Did you re install MacOS? Have you tried to calibrate battery?

From iFixit;

For laptops:

Charge it to 100%, and keep charging it for at least two more hours.
Unplug your laptop and use it normally to drain the battery.
Save your work when you see the low battery warning.
Keep your laptop on until it goes to sleep due to low battery.
Wait at least five hours, then charge your laptop uninterrupted to 100%.

I'm currently trying to calibrate the battery, but is there any other solution or trick I can do if it doesn't work for me?

Seeing it's down to 86% of original capacity, I'd let it get to under 80%.
That's the "threshold" below which Apple will do the $250 battery exchange.

Has it been like this since the time you first bought it (used)?
Guess that's why the original owner sold it.

2 days doesn't really give a good estimation of hours, but the m1 pro's have fewer efficiency cores so their idling and low power usage is definitely worse than the standard m1's.

My 14" has around 96% health after 122 cycles. So 86% @77 cycles doesn't feel right. My 16" was at 97% @101 cycles. Did you buy it with Apple care+? If not, (I hope that you have original invoice) talk to Apple. If you have residing in EU, you have at least 2 years to claim from the date of purchase.

Consider yourself lucky, or that your usage pattern happens to be liked by the battery. On my launch day 14" base, I got almost identical numbers as the OP, at 76 cycles 87.59%. A colleague's 16" is at 33 cycles 88.36%. Granted we use them docked more than unplugged but still.

I keep it plugged as much as I can. But I use Al Dente to keep the charge level between 65-75%. When I think that I may need to use with battery for longer periods, I fill it up. I don't use the 96W with my 14" and didn't use the 140W with 16" very often. 65W Anker is enough for my needs. 96 and 140W charges faster but battery used to be hotter than I use 65W.

update: I spoke to the previous owner about the mediocre battery life, apparently he left it for almost 2 months without using it,
For my part, I noticed a clear improvement in autonomy after downgrading from Apple XDR Display (1600nits) to Apple Display (500nits).

That’s probably not the reason. 2 months isn’t enough time. My 2015 MacBook Pro is at 94-95% health after 7 years with amazing battery life on El Cap and it’s been left unused for far longer.

Oh, yes, if you run it at high screen brightness that is the single biggest battery consumer usually.
Certainly if not doing intensive work screen brightness will have the single biggest effect on battery life.
