My battery used to last me for 2 days easily. Now it needs charged twice a day. It can drop by 40% in 2hrs on standby. This happened suddenly as soon as I updated the phone. The phone also became very slow and laggy. It takes a few seconds to react.

I had thought Apple would quickly release a new update to sort this out but I’m not seeing a lot of other people complaining about this so I don’t know what’s going on. The phone was purchased brand new from Apple in April last year. Battery health is showing as 98%. Is there anything I can do?

ETA: It’s an SE3. The battery is now worse than my ancient SE from 2015.

Apples latest version of iOS is 16.5.1 are you sure you're not on that...

Same thing with my 14 Pro Max since the 16.5.1 update. The phone used to last for two days without any issues, but now the battery drains way too quickly even when the phone is on standby. Now I have to charge it at least once during the day.

I got it a week ago and the battery health is at a 100% so it’s definitely from the update.

Apple really needs to fix that.

Gah, came here to ask for help with this problem, but looks like it's not just me. It has been awful lately. I was on 16.5 and just updated to 16.5.1 hoping that would be a fix but it's not. Is there any way to downgrade to a previous install? My phont has been running really hot and I can just watch the battery drop while doing basic stuff on my phone.

C'mon Apple!!

Bump because I have the same issue here. iPhone 12. It has been a problem off and on for months so it's not just 16.5.1.

I just updated to beta 16.6 and so far it seems to be better. I've never done beta before but it seemed like not too big of an update. Might be worth a shot!
