Battery effect of backlight keyboard

I am just wondering what the effect of the backlight on the keyboard is on the battery. It must be minimal becase it's such a small light, and thus power impact, but is there any at all that is noticeable?

Minimal is a relative term. The battery time remaining on my gauge fluctuates by a couple of hours when i mess with the keyboard brightness. i think its not very accurate.

It is very small in comparison with almost any other process initiated by the user.

The effect is monimal and you can certainly turn it off
