Anybody else's totally off? in terms of time remaining. I believe its calculated constantly based on your usage, but sometimes on my 11'' it reads 8 hours.

This is my first apple laptop so i'm not sure if they are all like this?

Yes, it uses some kind of average power consumption over the last X minutes I believe. If you start up the computer it may read 5 hours, but if you start a 3d game that takes lots of processing power it may drop to 1h or less (since playing that game takes a lot of power and it will only last for about 1h when playing). And if you then quit the game and leave the computer idle and the screen turns off, you'll probably see way more than 5 hours when resuming work. It's more of an indicator of "if you continue doing what you're doing right now, the battery will last this long" :)

It refreshes about every 30 secs or so based on your usage, so don't be surprised if it goes from like 8 hours to 2 suddenly. Just enjoy your new MBA
