I had the iPhone 7 Plus, not lasting enough, due to 70% of battery health. Replaced it today, and it's reading 100% with this Windows app: 3UTOOLS.

The problem is, I also have the exact same model, which had its battery changed more than 1 year ago, and still reads 100%.

It's impossible for the new battery to still be at 100%, even our new SSDs don't show that percentage after months of continuous use/(RE)charging.

I can only assume the new battery (which is probably not original) is giving false readings and the actual health is lower than that.

Any ideas?

When you get a new phone it’s 100% for months till it drops then it goes down fast.

Batteries degrade right away so a one day old phone battery isn’t at 100%. It would be 99.x%

What I think is happening is the health is based on whatever capacity the battery is supposed to have so if it’s more then it has to drop to 100% before it goes below it.

@russell_314 has it right. The new battery is higher than “standard” max capacity, say at 103% or 107% or whatever. But, 3UTools won’t display anything over 100%. So it’ll get there.

I had the battery in my iPhone 11 Pro changed at Apple in April of 2022. About 10 months later, the iPhone battery section shows it at 80% but running at Peak Performance. Here we are, June 2024, and it’s still showing 80% at Peak Performance.

I have a 9 year old iPhone 6 Plus and it’s battery health on the original battery is at 99%
That’s what it says.

So what is that telling me?
iOS Battery Health percentage is worthless.

I have my 15 Pro Max since a month and a half and it’s already at 99%.

I got my iPhone 13 new in April 2023 and the battery health in settings has only just dropped to 99%.

Unless you regularly charge your phone to 100% and discharge until it turns off, the capacity reading will be a very rough estimate.

A full charge and discharge damages the battery, so most people shouldn’t be doing it. In short, don’t rely on the capacity estimate.

Hello everyone, since unfortunately the % information in the battery app is not displayed correctly, you could use the information read from the "PowerUtil" and "Battery Stats" shortcuts.

The prerequisite for using these shortcuts is that you activate the following on the iPhone:
Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data

Search for latest "Analytics-....ips" > click share > pick the shortcut

More info and download:
