Hello,

I bought a new 15'' macbook pro (the highest stock model they offered) a little under a month ago. Now, I downloaded this system monitoring widget called iStat and it is reporting my battery as:

Health: 97%
Cycles: 6

Why is my health already dropped by 3%? At this rate my battery will be at 0% in 3 years? I dont understand how this works. Also, what are the cycles?

Thanks

I was about to make a thread on the same thing. It says my MBP is 2 months old which is weird, because I got it September 18th. It says my battery capacity is:

95%
Current: 5231 mAh
Originial: 5450 mAh
LoadCycles: 9

Checked with cocnut battery. Is this considered normal? What is calibrate?

97%
Cycles 5

Got it 6 days ago. I'll recalibrate and give it some time. Also not sure how accurate istat really is.
