Hello Everyone,

I am a happy macbook air Rev.B owner but since I have bought my machine the charge won't last more than 2hrs 20 mins after a full cycle charge.

I tried to reset the SMC but nothing changed.

How can I know if it's coming from a the battery or the charger ?

Many get their MBA running for 4hrs at least.

Thank you for your help

Is it timed or did you just look at the rating in the OS after you unplug it?

Right now, just unplugged, I'm reading 1:54 Hours, but I'm confident I can use up to 3 hours regardless of what it says.

I look on the rating in the OS most of the time but many times it does respect that rating when I timed it.

Thank you for your answer, I will try another timing.

I was thinking to change the battery, What do you think ?

You don't need to unless the health is dropped under 80%.

Use a stopwatch and time the system from 100% to 15%, then see what you get.

Flash videos or Flash based websites or even Flash based ads will drastically drop battery times. Including brightness, bluetooth and how much your fans needs to rev up.

What brightness are you running at? Also what are you running generally?

If I need more time, I turn the brightness way down. Also, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi to gain a lot of time. When I am on a plane, I will get 4.5 hours... but on occasion I wish I had 6 hours when flying back and forth to NYC from AZ which I do often. I would love a true 6hr battery, but then wouldn't we all. Look into that hypermac battery in another other thread in the MBA section.

Is there any difference in capacity between a battery of rev. A, B or C or are they all still the same?

From what I understand they are basically the same, but the REV C might have an extra 30 minutes or something.

I don't really know how much more battery life Apple can add to the Air because of the form factor.
