Battery life and the Calendar app?

So I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but I've noticed a huge increase in battery life by turning off all notifications for the built in Calendar app. Anyone else do this and notice it too?

I'm really curious about this. Can you explain precisely which settings you toggled to "off"?

I have everything off for the Calendar app, badges and everything. Everything toggled to off. I have another calendar app I use.
