Battery life conscious. should I upgrade?

Hi. I've been holding off updating to macOS Ventura because of some problems some people seemed to be having in the early days with battery life. Just wondering what people's battery life seems to be like so I can make my mind up about upgrading.

My battery lasts longer than me but I haven’t timed it. Normally right after any update battery life will take a hit for a short period while the system is indexing and stuff

There are always "some problems some problems some people seemed to be having in the early days.." with every macOS upgrade. Very few are genuine concerns and when they are they tend to hit the headlines.

I have not heard of this one. Is it well documented, or just subjective? links? Is it more than the brief new OS indexing mentioned above?

I have updated four Macs to Ventura without seeing anything.

Yes quite a lot of reports, some of which sound convincing. One reporting improvement, and one sounds like a specific to sleep issue. Most seem to be 13.0 or 13.1?

Fingers crossed for 13.2 for you.
