Would you say its likely that the 11inch and 13inch will receive a battery life improvement with the SB processors and no 320m?

no real way to be sure, but i'd say similar battery life to the last MBA. if anything, you might see the battery life estimations go from '5 and 7', to '6 and 8'. nothing major i don't think though :)

Well there are three ways I can think of to improve battery life.

1) Lower power circuits
2) Improve battery technology (cram more capacity (MAh) in the same physical area)
3) Improve the internal design to allow for physically larger batteries.

Or a combination of the three... From what I've read about ULV SB CPU's and the C2D/320M combo, the power consumption factor should be very similar. If true, that leaves options 2 and 3.

I don't see Apple redesigning the interior after one year. MBA will probably get minor spec upgrades and TB. I'll say the battery life will be the same even if they add a backlite.

If they find a way to more efficiently design the interior, especially it it cuts costs they'll do it. It happens with hardware ALL the time.
