Now that the Plus has been out for a few days what are seeing seeing in real world use for the 14 Plus battery life?
Personally, with moderate use all day at 10pm I am still left with 42% which is very impressive.
On my Max, by 10pm I am left at 28% not bad! Both have AO. Sure I get better pro resolution/refresh, but again, I have a hard time telling the different.

42% V 28% is quite a lot of difference for plus v pro max. May be your usage was different. At max 5% difference can be seen if both phones are used in a same way .

Btw AO mean always on? if so 14 plus dont have it

yeah meaning 14 plus doesn't have AO but the 14 max does and I had it on, wondering if this would account for the difference, plus the 120 hz. refresh?

The 14 Plus is the king of battery life. Like all the other phones I expect the battery life to get even better in another week or so for the early adopters. To have it beat the others out of the box with the others around for a few weeks says it all.

This would be a good phone for large corporate use because of the battery life alone.

Personally I’d love to see 13pm vs 14 plus. :)
It’s 5:38am here in South Africa, just took my 13 PM with 100% battery health off the charger, so let’s see where I am at by 10PM tonight. :)
I’ve got an early flight to catch tomorrow so I will probably go to bed well before midnight lol.

In terms of the battery tests I’ve seen, it seems to really depend on usage:

What’s interesting here is that his 13 Pro Max has a battery health at 96% capacity…

It’s 22:08 here and I’m already in bed, lol.

So here we go, 43% on what was quite a busy day for me as I went into the office and gym today, took phone (13 Pro Max) off charge at 5:16am this morning.

From GSMArena, once again it seems Apple’s claim about 14 Plus being then best battery iPhone is not quite true, the 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max still own this…

Whether or not the battery on the 14 Plus is better than the 14 Max as Apple claims, it has certainly proved to be pretty awesome for me so far!

I got the 14 Plus through work and I’m on my first full charge. I plugged it in Friday night around 2345 and woke around 0800 with 100%, it’s now Sunday morning 1007 and I have had 5hrs 24 minutes SOT with 55% battery left. That’s with my usage and settings, but still, pretty bloody decent.

That is great! There is no doubt you are bound to get great battery life, I think a lot of us were just curious as to how the 14 Plus compares to 14 Pro Max and the outgoing 13 Pro Max, given the 14 Plus has a 60Hz screen that is also dimmer.

TBH I was truly expecting the 14 Plus to blow us all away with crazy battery test numbers so I am a little underwhelmed by all the results coming in from the various tests and even user posts here on MR, Twitter and Reddit. I guess the results are more of a testament to how well Apple have optimised management of the 120Hz ProMotion that even though the 13PM and 14PM have higher refresh rate they are able to get the same or even better results than the 60Hz 14 Plus in some cases.

That being said I still think it’s a great phone especially for those who don’t want the heavyweight of Pro Max and don’t need ProMotion, extra camera etc… in a way the 14 Plus feels like the iPad Air of the iPhone family, I think it would be great if Apple do a little more with it when it comes to 15 Plus and so on, maybe give it a 90hz screen.

Battery life has never been a problem on any of my ProMax units. Then, I don’t live on my phone and my Apple Watch does much to help.

I am actually disappointed with the current battery life on my 14 Pro Max. It is significantly worse than on my previous 13 Pro max. Hope it will get fixed

I’m definitely seeing slightly worse battery life on 14 Pro Max with AoD on. When Off, I’m seeing numbers close to what people used to describe with 13 Pro Max.

I’ve decided to run the phone with AoD on, and being mindful how bright the environment is. When the room is very bright, the AoD will try to keep up, burning more power. So I find myself flipping the phone to its front when having the AoD is not helpful.

For example: meetings where I need to keep time, it facing up. Dinner with friends where I don’t care, face down.
