What an odd problem!

I've just switched over to Windows 7 after running Vista for about a half of a year and just noticed the hit in battery life (quite significant)

Vista used to have up to 4 hours of battery life (with some tweaking) and now Win7 has more along the lines of 2...

Windows 7 is supposed to have better battery management, not worse...

However, I did just install the latest NVIDIA 9400M drivers...I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I've got the new 15" uMBP with the integrated battery. Under OS X battery life is pretty damn good, very close to the claimed 7 hours by Apple. When running under Windows 7 via bootcamp however, my battery life is cut by more than 50% like the OP says. Surely others must be experiencing this as well. Anyone have an explanation or better yet a work around? I've already gone through and disabled any Windows services that I know I don't need but I'm wondering if there's a faulty driver somewhere that's causing some piece of hardware to just suck the battery dry.

for me battery life in win 7 is waaay better than xp or vista, and like 80-85% of what I get on OS X
