How long does your guys battery last? I surf the web and listen to music and my battery only last three hours... is this right?

I'm on my 4th MBP. Was getting close to 4 hours on the first three but only around 2hrs 45 mins on this one.

wireless on, safari, adium and itunes all together total around 4h30. I saw 5h12 but droped to 4h40ish pretty fast so around 4h30 for me

PS: Just did the latest firmware which givea better battery life. I confirm! oh and no problem with it btw

ya mine is on auto... do you think my battery is messed up i have only had the mbp for bout two weeks...

I haven't done anything scientific (going on the MBP's batt meter when it settles) of about 3hrs with camino and word open

Make sure you calibrate your battery every month or two.
  • Run computer on battery until its completely drained
  • Don't use it for 3-5 hours
  • Plug power back in and charge (better to not use the computer during this charge)

As for my battery, I almost always have Adium, Mail, iTunes, and Safari running, bluetooth on, I will turn screen brightness down as far as possible for the lighting (I find that auto just isn't good enough). I get about 3.5 hours with that. If I am doing some design work with CS3 I get about 2.5 - 3 hours.

Mine gets between 3-4 hours. I have read that you an get better life if you turn bluetooth/airport off when not in use, as well as lowering the brightness of the display.
