Is there anyway to check the health on your IPP battery? Today, my IPP went from 100% at 8:20 a.m. to 26% at 2 pm. I only played a handful of YouTube videos (short ones-under 10 min. Ea.), checked a few webpages and that was it. I’ve noticed battery life isn’t what it once was. That doesn’t surprise me-it’s a 2018 bought the beginning of November in 2018, so some degradation is expected. Anyway, just wondering if there is a way to check the health.

Thanks!

Oooph, sounds like it’s definitely on its way. When you look at your battery reading in Settings is it not showing any apps eating up battery in the background by any chance? May have just been a rogue app e.g. YouTube may have played in the background without you knowing.

YouTube cannot play in the background unless you have YouTube Premium.

Yep, I know, I have Premium and have sometimes forgotten it in the background in a rush somewhere especially if I am playing ASMR stuff, same with playing radio in Apple Music, sometimes I drop the volume if I need to do a Zoom or MS Teams call on my laptop then forget I have my iPad Pro streaming radio the whole time lol.

Thanks for reminding me of coconut battery. I ended up dl iMazing to find the battery is listed as “average”. I’m good with that, tho I will now consider getting The next iPad whenever it decides to come out.

Does iMazing show anywhere that the Battery Condition is "Average" or "Bad" or "Better" ? I did not notice whenever I have used it so just wondering ?

Yes. For mine it showed “average” and it also explains a little about what that means.

Haven’t really ever thought about the battery life but it now it’s super bad.

Same for me, I use my iPad (12’9 2018 too) about 10 hours a day and I have to make at least 2 full charges during the day. Sometimes it’s just opened on the side with music playing to Airpods and the note app open and it lost 60% in 3 hours.

Apple support did a diagnosis and just told me that the battery life is ok and it’s not eligible for a replacement. So at this point I just decided to run the battery to death with overcharging every night etc to get a replacement. There’s no way I’ll buy a future 2021 model just because the battery life is trash after a little over 2 years.

it does where is shows the percentage wear and number of cycles
So today I checked my Battery Status on iMazing. I had an older Version of iMazing Software which I had not updated for more than a Year or so and more so after I updated the iPad to 14.2. So with the Older Version of iMazing it said my battery was "excellent" and the moment I updated the iMazing Software Version to the latest Version the Battery Status in iMazing started showing "Good" from Excellent ?

Which one do I assume as the accurate one ? And why did just updating the iMazing Software Version in a span of 2 Minutes went from Excellent to Good ?

Can anybody tell me that ?

it's not a matter of update, it can change from one day to the other, you have to look at the number, it can be 90.1 and be excellent or 89.9 and be good, since there is a threashold... excellent or good don't matter.... and then it can go back to excellent since there are small variations (measuring the battery wear is not precise, so it can change slightly in both directions)

In both cases "Good" and "Excellent" It is saying 100% Battery Health for my device.

Yes so Mine with Excellent Status said "100%" Health and with "Good" it says 99.7% Health.

ok so the threashold is 100% for good and excellent and 90% for good and average, and bad under 80%.
Anyway your battery is almost as good as new, it it doesn't last, the culprit is either some app or the brightness set too high
