CNET's review rated the newer Santa Rose Macbook at 4.5 hrs battery life while watching a DVD vs. only 3.5 for the 2.16 ghz model. Does anyone have real world comparisons to back this up or is it just a matter of luck?

CNET's review doesn't apply in the real world. You're still going to get no more than 1/2 to 2/3rds of Apple's fantastical battery estimates in your Macbook/Pro.

well a DVD drain test is pretty standard because it puts relatively constant drain on the CPU and battery, so I would think its accurate...but I am just surprised at the 1hr battery life difference.

I've had both models and haven't noticed any differences in battery life. I get about the same out of the 2.2 as I got out of the 2.16. Maybe it's a little bit better, but not a whole hour's worth.
