pretty great I must say. A huge improvement from my iPad Pro 9.7

Previous charges was over 40 hours standby and I'm a pretty heavy user too. So this is a welcome upgrade battery life wise.

Whoa! That's really good. Is that 14 hours of screen on time? Or did you play music in the background?

Yeah, mine was doing amazingly well but then I went into the Apple shop and noticed the screens looked much better than mine and realized I had brightness at less than half. Moved it up to three quarters now so will have to see how battery life is now.

What are your settings to get that much screen time

Settings?

I have Bluetooth and location services on all the time/use the pencil a lot too. I have twitter notifications like every min too.

My pro 9.7 would die after 14-15 hours so very happy with the battery life.

Obviously it will varely each day to day depending on how much you use it.

Yeah true.

Think a big reason why I got such good usage is I work 7am to 7pm so I use it when I get home and don't need to charge it and don't use it during the day but still I've used it all day today and I have 40% left and it's 8 hours usage and 9 hours standby

OK battery is almost same as old one, Each episode of TV shows (40 mins) takes 20 percent of charge and movies ought take 50 to 60 percent of charge.

OMG The battery life AMAZED MEEEEEE,,,,, watching a full movie (1 hour and 40 minutes) usually took 38 to 42 percent with full brightness when i had my iPP 12.9 first generation.

Now new iPP 12.9 second generation just took 22 percent with full brightness (Damn Truetone is off) ,:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Is the official YouTube app optimized for 12.9"?
And what is the minimum resolution for full screen clarity? (1440p, 1080p, 720p, etc)

On my 9.7", 720p is my minimum tolerable resolution.

Thanks in advance. I was unable to install YouTube on the demo iPad at my Apple Store and looking at YouTube from safari - the video looks horrendous on both 10.5" and 12.9" iPad Pro.

Sadly not

It's 720p.

Still a lot of wasted space but still a larger viewing picture on the 12.9

I've been averaging about 12-13 hours on mine. Quite happy with that. I know some drain comes from a couple of websites I frequent (an older forum whose rich text editor no longer shows up on iDevices) and Google's web based version of Blogger. The Blogger template I use (dynamic) is particularly buggy and I have to do all these work arounds in order to post. I'll test different theme and see if that changes.

I love that I can watch a drawing tutorial and then try to follow along in Procreate using split screen. Pretty great.

I've been using the youtupe app on the 12.9 and some videos let me choose 1440 but is it really showing in 1440 or is playback really only 720p? Seems to be a big difference if I switch between the two though so perhaps it really is showing at 1440. Many also have a 1080@60fps option and the quality of those is very good too.

This is all just pissing me off; do you guys know how you're so lucky? I run a normal amount of apps too and I get 4-7hrs max, and I remember the days when I first got my iPad 12.9 and it was running with a battery life like you guys (14-17hrs)

Please help!
