I get about 4 hours if I set my brightness a bit lower from maximum (3 bars) and about 3 hours if set at maximum. Is this normal?

Does Apple have a battery estimation somewhere for the new MBP? Thank you.

I got just under 5 hours so far.

Yes, depending on your usage, 3.5 hours to 4 hours are normal. The 6 hours claim by manufacture is usually done with screen set to dimmest setting, airport & bluetooth off, and CPU doing nothing.

It would probably help to put the battery usage into perspective if you also post what it was you were doing for that time. As well list which apps were open and also items like bluetooth on/off and wireless on/off. If we get enough of this kind of real world usage information we will be able to provide a more realistic battery run time.

I appreciate your responses guys, I was wondering... will apple ever release a new battery with a larger charge hold in the future for MBPs? I would love to buy one with doulbe capacity of what we have now in a few years when my battery dies out.

4-5 hours is quite a bit of time it seems like. I also like the idea of apple updating the batteries on the older models - my powerbook g4 1.67 gets about 3 hours, be cool if i could get 4-5

yes i wish they would do that. bring out a 9-cell or 12-cell like dell has. that would be really nice :).

on my C1D id be happy to get 2.5-3hours battery with brightness on minimal haha. i am in line for a new battery tho as this one is defective.
