I am only getting 4/5 hours of sceen time and before i was getting 6 hours of sceen time on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

Is it this normal? And it is because that i have over charged the battery sometimes.

On my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 i was getting a least 6 hours of sceen time on a single charge.

Battery degrades over time, and it's not to do with over charging. There are special circuits In the battery to prevent it from over charging.

No a battery can not over charge.

Likely your usage pattern has changed or you are running something different or which has been updated and subsequently uses more battery.

Is this the same tablet you were blaming a bad update for performance ???

I always charge the battery from 5% to 100% all the time(nearly every day).

The battery life is very BAD for a tablet comparing to the likes of Ipad Air 2, Nexus 9 and all so Samsung claimed the battery life will be for normal use is 10 hours but that is NOT even close! :/

My usage pattern has not changed at tall since i 1st go it in last May.

Yes and i think it has been fixed since i done a another factory reset and installed apps over time and so far it has been good and the battery life has not been losing 30/40% over night on stand night and the RAM is good again(i have lots of free RAM left and apps/games are loading faster again now and web pages are not reloading not as often now.)

You may not perceive your pattern changing - but it always does with everyone. It's likely since you have spent more time on the device lately because of the other issue and the re-installation of apps and things - meaning your usage is likely higher than it previously was.

Give it a few cycles and time for your usage to go back to your regular pattern and then you will be able to see.

If it still doesn't change then likely an app or a service is now running in the background (since an update or such) and is causing extra drain - but I'd wait and see first if after a week or two the usage and screen on time doesn't change.

I had both the Tab Pro 8.4 and Tab S 8.4. Both had similarly bad battery life until I disabled a boatload of services, including disabling auto Play Store app updates. What helped the most with the sleep battery drain is disabling wifi while on sleep, so that all the crapware is not constantly phoning home.

I had both the Tab Pro 8.4 and Tab S 8.4.

Just wondering Why did you get both? They are the same tablets despite the Tab S having a super amoled display and a extra GB of RAM(3 GB).

And have you tried the Battery saving mode on your Tab S? Does it save more battery life?

Since you disabled auto Play Store app update and more on your Tab Pro 8.4.
How many hours of sceen time are you getting on on a single charge on your Tab Pro 8.4 now?

On the Pro I was able to get 6-7 just doing regular stuff (surf, email, play store, etc). 8~ just watching videos. About the same on the S.

For reasons known only to Netflix, HD streaming on Android *tablet* is restricted to a very selected few devices (Android phones are stuck at 480p). Netflix won't state which ones, but the only TWO I know are the 2013 Nexus 7, and the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. I found this out the hard way, after having tried like 4 Android tablets. By chance I found out the Tab S does Netflix HD, so I sold the Pro and bought the S. I would've preferred to keep the Tab Pro as I prefer the Snapdragon processor over the Exynos. But watching Netflix HD on that AMOLED screen is absolute eye candy.

No I didn't mess with the battery mode. I just do exactly as I do with other Android devices to minimize battery use. The only Android devices where I don't have to disable stuff to avoid excessive battery usage is Sony Xperia devices.

I really hope you are right!

The battery life is very disappointing to be honest..... :/

I am not asking too much but i be happy when i get a least 6 hours of sceen time on a single charge on a tablet, that is plenty for me!

I mainly use it for web browsing, watching videos and some gaming, email and i check the news and the weather sometimes.

Do you still have your Note Pro 12.2? if yes then how is the battery life and how many hours do you get of sceen time?

Yeah still have my Note Pro 12.2

Battery seems to last forever. I would get around 9-10 hours screen on time with simple stuff (not gaming or heavy CPU apps like Corel painter)

This is ridiculous tonight my battery was around 20% i was browsing the web and watching a video and all of the sudden battery just lost about 18% charge in under 5 minutes down to 2%.:mad:

And i am still getting ridiculously low battery life 3/4 hours instead of 5/6 hours of sceen time on a single charge and i keep losing like 20% per hour on a single charge when in use.

This is ****** stupid, it should NOT be happening, i am getting fed of all of the problems i having with my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

This makes want to get rid of it or sell it and get a Ipad Air 2.:mad:

If you lost 18% battery in 5 minutes, that is a defective battery.

Yep that sounds defective to me too

Restore first and if that still happens its a defective battery.

Should i factory reset my Tab Pro 8.4 again? and see if the battery life lmproves so i can get about 6 hours of sceen time again

And when i am playing a game(Flick Soccer 15) i am losing about 2% per minute most of the time and that should not be happening.

If the factory reset don't improve the battery life, i might sell it because battery life(4 hours of sceen time) is ridiculously bad on a single charge.

The battery life is starting to be a deal breaker for me i bet the Samsung Galaxy Tab S has way better battery life!

I have a Windows 8 tablet Acer Iconia W700 with a I5 Core CPU and the battery life only last about 3 hours on a single charge but the battery life does not bother me as much as it is a Windows 8 tablet.

Hopefully Apex Launcher will improve the battery life.. :)
