I'm still on El Capitan on my 2012 Retina Macbook Pro (2.9gz i7 processor). Most of the time I leave it plugged in as a desktop, but sometimes I use it unplugged and wanted to see what people have thought of the battery life on it. Is it better than El Capitan or about the same? I know everyone will have differences in time wise due to use, but in general, I'm just wondering how the battery life is before upgrading

Battery Life Question

Battery life is about the same on my MacBook Air Early 15. I'd say don't worry about it and upgrade.
I have a 2009 macbook unibody.
After installing sierra I now have about an extra hour run time while using it for same tasks at work than I did on El capitan.
Very impressed, well done apple.
My battery is 6.5 years old.
I use batteryhealth 2 to monitor it.
Free in app store.
Same readings with coconut as well but battery health gives remaining time as well.
It is dynamic so changes as I use the machine for more or less resource hungry tasks.
got 70% battery and 3 hours 20 mins with current use.
firefox one tab and chrome 4 tabs.

Thanks. That gives me some great hope for it then. The past two OS haven't been great on my Macs battery wise. Mavericks was the strongest (but was originally shipped with Mountain Lion), so I think I will try the upgrade.
