Just wondering how these would impact the battery life?

Ideally I'd like Wifi to be on all the time so that it automatically switches to my known networks (home/work etc.) when I get there.

And equally, I'd like bluetooth on all the time so that it connects with my car handsfree when I set off, automatically.

Would leaving these both on constantly seriously degrade the battery life though (bluetooth won't actually be active most of the time, just on so it's discoverable)?

I've been running with WiFi and Bluetooth enabled since launch day, and I'm content with the battery life. I don't mind charging every night though either. I can get through the day making some calls, going online for a little bit, and watching a TV show or listening to some music. By day's end my battery is pretty low, but I make it just fine.

Cool, thanks.

Would you say if you turned wifi and bluetooth OFF, your battery life would increase by a significant amount (say 40%)?

I'm used to a PocketPC, so I've had to charge my phone every night for the past 3 years anyway...no problem.

If you are going to be using WiFi networks and go to work from 9am to around 5pm...bring a power charger with you, imo.

If you go to work....use it for some phone/text/emails....not longer then an hour or so...it will last fine

But anymore use over 2-3 hours of work on the iPhone will drain it dead by 4-5pm
