Hey everyone, sorry if this has been asked a ton, I did some searching but only found issues with the beta.

With Yosemite it seems like my battery is just draining. I have a 2011 macbook pro, and on mavericks I had a good 8-9 hours of battery life with mostly taking notes, web browsing (nothing too hard on it I will admit). Now i'm getting like 4 hours out of it, I'm not even making it a day of classes with a single charge. I saw spotlight was using a ton of energy in activity monitor, once I disabled it though for now I haven't seen many things spike in activity monitor. Anyone else having this issue?

Was this just after upgrade? Spotlight will spend some hours of awake time reindexing and that will lead to lower batt life while that is carried out, after that it should be back to normal.

No I been updated since around the first of second day release. I may try a fresh install again to see if that helps if it doesn't clear up.

Hmmm - I'm left with a slightly lower battery life but its confined to periodic runaway Dropbox (whilst "Up to Date"), and Exchange 2011. When those 2 are shutdown I get 6.5hrs or thereabouts which is as before on Mavericks...

Please update us with your result after the clean install.
I'm not happy with my 2013 rMBP's battery performance after the upgrade.

Just an update for today. I did drain my battery fully yesterday and did a full charge over night. I re enabled spotlight and I was getting about 6.5 hours, which seemed closer to normal with the tasks I was doing at the time. If it stays there for now I will be ok.
