I left my iPad home today fully charged @ 100%. When I returned home from work and turned it on, battery was @ 84%....Thoughts???

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Or auto checking emails?

Yeah that is odd. Yesterday night I fully charged my iPad before going to bed. When I got back from work today and checked my ipad battery it was still at 100%

push notification REALLY drains it. My battery dropped 10% in a 8 hour standby period only because it was checking my work email. I eventually changed it to fetch.

Hmm, that's weird. I have Mobile Me email with push enabled, and a corp Exchange push account on it, I lose maybe 1%-2% overnight.

I also have Push enabled for email, apps, mobileme, and I have never noticed that big of a battery drain. I would check what apps are using push on your device.

I have not heard of the battery draining that quickly. Call up Apple or pay them a visit and try to get it replaced.

I have disabled push notifications which was on for mail and The Sims. I will check the battery in the morning to see if that helps.

Thanks all!

After 2 days, 1 of really heavy use, I am sitting around 80% (give or take).

Battery Lifetime Tips?

What are some good practices to keep the iPad's battery lifespan as long as possible (ie how keep it holding a charge well for a long time). I've heard that you shouldn't leave it on the charger, that you should cycle it down once a month... but I'm not really sure what to believe.

Here's a link to Apple's official statement, which still leaves me with a few questions: http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html

My suggestion is to use Fetch, not Push, for notifications.

Another is to turn down the brightness of the display just a little bit. Not too much, but below the medium threshold that is set by default.

I have push notifications on and Mobile Me and last night I went to bed with the iPad at 98%. This morning it was at 97%.
You have something wrong going on there.
