Can't seem to find a battery management app or atleast something that gives me the amount of battery left as a % instead of just guessing :)

All the apps that i have come across, will only work if you jail break your phone.

Any help or any 3rd Party apps people are aware of will be much appreciated.

I'm also curious if there is an app like this...

bah.. right k , i voided the warrenty on the new blackberry bold 4 months ago without batting an eye lid when i wanted to apply the stealth kit.

Ive got an itch which needs scratching, think i might jail break my iphone tonight.

a) how easy is it to do

b) what are the main risks in doing so

and

c) Is it myth or fact that you can restore back to factory if you no longer wish to run a jailbroken iphone?

Also im running the latest software available, would that pose a problem in jailbreaking?

If you buy the current version of FreeMemory ($1), you can get the battery indicator you seek. The developers have said that it will have to be removed from the next version because Apple says so. But one approach would be to get it now and then not update.

So the Free Memory update will sit there in my updates forever? And never again will i ever be able to 'update all'? I'll have to update one at a time? Ugh.

I guess there's no way to dismiss an update notice, huh?

correct. I would not advise anyone to buy free memory for this feature. Or for any other reason for that matter.

I wish I knew of a way. And I wouldn't put up with this just to keep an old version either.

Can you circumvent the update by:

1. copying the current ipa file from your mobile applications folder to another location, then deleting it from your iTunes.

2. deleting the application from your iPhone.

3. Update to the newer version to clear your updates.

4. Immediately delete the new version of the app.

5. Copy the old ipa file back into your Itunes.

6. Sync.

??

Doesn't work. I tried this with another app where I didn't like an updated version, and as soon as I drag the old version into iTunes, it recognizes the version number (it's part of the app file info), and prompts you to update.

But does it only prompt you to update in iTunes? Or does it prompt you on your phone too? Cuz i can deal w/ an eternal update prompt in iTunes, just not on my phone.

What prompt on the phone? All the prompt you get is the number badge on the app store icon, isn't it? And yes, I'm sure you'll get the number badge, it's not like the iphone uses a different way of checking the version number of your app than itunes.

Yeah, the number badge. What will happen (as is often the case) when there's more than one update? If you "Update All", you've lost it.

Is there any way to update the other apps but not Free Memory?

As far as I know, the only way is to do them one at a time and skip the one you don't want to update. The reminder badge for that one will remain.

this is a bit of a long winded method but, if you buy the app on another account that is authorized to your computer and not the one used on your iphone/ipod touch when you hit update all and put in your password, it wont update the apps not on your account. you'll just get some error message that you can ignore. I've done this accidentally when i got a new ituens account but if you decide to update the app you can simply use the other email when the sign in box appears on your device. the apps will sync as normal from itunes.

hope this helps :):apple::apple:

You can't even transfer apps between accounts so keep that in mind.
