I've found that after I jailbreak my phone the battery meter in the status bar isn't very accurate. Most of the time after a full charge the battery doesn't change at all and when i restart the phone it finally shows up correctly. Sometimes even without charging it will show half battery and then after being used for a couple hours the phone dies because it was a lot less than half. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe a theme was causing this but i just have the stock battery icons. Thanks

i have this issue as well. Last night for example I had 70% remaining and i turned the phone off. This morning I cannot turn it back on, 0% apparently o_O

nothing can be running when the phone is off completely...right?

well the good news is that this isnt just an issue that happens when you jailbreak.
the bad news is that this isnt just an issue that happens when you jaiklbreak.

if you look it up on google this happens to many people.
sometimes doing a hard restart works, other times you need to completely restore the phone.

just an os bug

I also had issues after I Jailbroke my iPhone 3G running firmware 2.1 ... though my issue was slightly different (battery draining in a couple of hours). I decided to switch back to the original firmware. After posting on this forum, and being informed that this issue was not common, i decided to Jailbreak my phone again. This resolved the issue. Perhaps if you do a DFU restore and re-jailbreak it will also resolve your problem.

weird part is that it happens every now and then :/

Im having the same problem. I used my phone all day and the battery showed full until around 5pm when I got the 5% remaining warning and then the phone died. I recharged it, reloaded the 2.1 firmware on it and jailbreak my phone again. After I did all that the battery still stayed at the full mark so I scheduled an appointment at the Applestore to go get my phone replaced. I loaded the 2.1 firmware on my phone again so they wouldn't see that it was jailbroken and my battery gauge started working again after I reloaded the stock 2.1 firmware on it...go figure. This is on a 3G iPhone also.
