Hey, I been lurking these forums for awhile and I have my first question.

I know a lot of macbooks have this cosmetic problem. For me I would just like to know if this looks like a normal alignment problem or is this worse and should be taken back.

I recently just bought this notebook. It is the 2.16 C2D Macbook. It isn't that big of a deal for me but when I happen to look at it.... it makes me question it a little if this is exceeding a normal cosmetic problem.

i dont have a macbook, but im pretty positive its not supose to be that way, im guessing you tried taking it off and putting it back? if so take it to an apple store and have the genuiuses look at it

Yea, I have tried everything I could to try and get it flush. Guess, I will take it in and see whats up.

If anything, my Blackbooks battery is the opposite of yours. I would definitely request another battery if I were you.

Thanks guys, I will take it in first thing tomorrow morning. It is like 20-25 days old. Think they will exchange it without a question.

They should...if the store doesn't, come home and call AppleCare. They seem to be a little nicer with replacements from my experience.

I am going to go take it back right now, hopefully they will replace the battery with little to no hassle at all.

My macbook does that too, and after seeing this thread w/ the exact same thing happening to my macbook i called applecare. my new battery will be here in 3 or 4 days. :)

Well, so I go to the south coast mall apple store.... and it is closed for the next 2 or 3 days. Guess, I will go to Fashion Island tomorrow.

it's not that the battery isn't flush, it's just the plastic is just peeling away from the battery housing. Mine is doing that on both ends - unfortunately I am out of Applecare so I will need to reglue mine as some point.

just return it to the store and ask for replacement,
it is a defective battery and it is dangerous from what I learned from internet.

Some people get their mb/mbp blasted because of defective battery..

hey i'm in the fashion island area. Though Ive never been to that apple store.

Well I showed them and they quickly replaced it with a new battery. Thanks for the advice guys.
