Hello all,

I’m having an issue with my iPhone Max and the battery percentage not updating. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won’t. When I restart the device, it jumps up on percentage.

This is through the lightning port and not wireless charge.

Im on a restore backup, and have never had this issue before. Have tried tweaking different settings, resets, etc.

I’m on public beta 2 currently. Any suggestions? This is software and not a hardware issue correct?

Drain the phone battery down to 0 (flashlight on, play a game, watch a movie, etc.); after it shuts down on it's own, start it up again and again until until it won't start anymore; leave it shut for about 2 hours or more to make sure the battery is drained as much as possible. Then, charge it all the way to 100% and more, preferably with it not running to generate less heat and charge it faster (it should take about 4-5 hours to fully charge). After fully charged, perform a reboot (vol up, vol down, lock buttons).

This should reset any software problems with reading battery reported percentages. I've had the same issue with my 8, it would jump percentages after doing a restart. The above procedure fixed it for me, so give it a try.

Thank you! I’ll give it a try and hopefully it fixes the issue. If not, I’ll just have to wipe it and do a clean install from new. Appreciate it!
